How To Set Never Expired Password For vCenter SSO Users? This guide will show you how to setup nerver expired password for vcenter SSO users

1. vCenter UI (Appling for all SSO Users)

2. Command Line ( apply for specific user)

SSH to vCenter Appliance

cd /usr/lib/vmware-vmafd/bin/
./dir-cli user find-by-name --account srv-backup

Result:

Enter password for [email protected]:
Account: srv-backup
UPN: [email protected]

Reset the expired password before set it to never expire

./dir-cli password reset --account srv-backup --password 0ldPassword --new VMware1!

Result:

Password was reset successfully for [srv-backup]

Set the password to never expire:

./dir-cli user modify --account srv-backup --password-never-expires

Result:

Enter password for [email protected]:
Password set to never expire for [srv-backup]

To check password expired has been set successfully. Run the command again.

./dir-cli user modify –account srv-backup –password-never-expires

Result:

Enter password for [email protected]:
Password is currently set to never expire for [srv-backup].
